Modern Times's Superheroes

Today I'll again talk about a series : Misfits. So, you wonder why I talk about this in the "discoveries" section? Well, because I think that this series is not very known to the public. Indeed, it is a British series, therefore it is less famous than American ones. Nevertheless, if I remember well, an American remake is in preparation, but I'm not sure.

Misfits follows five delinquents, Nathan, Alisha, Simon, Curtis and Kelly, who work in Community service program . While they was working under the watchful eye of their probation officer , a supernatural storm broke out, and they are all struck by lightning.

Then, they gradually discover that they have strange superpowers now, as becoming invisible for example, and that many people are in the same situation. They will have to protect themselves and to fight against those who haven't decided to use their power to do good.

This series is not really politically correct, and the characters are rather vulgar in their way of speaking ( it makes it more “urban”), but we attach ourselves to these thugs who are, at least, really funny.

The two first seasons are A-MA-ZING. The plot is interesting and hilarious. It makes me laugh till I cry. We get to know the characters and we watch them learn to use their powers.

However, the series loses much of its appeal with the departure of Nathan, played by Robert Sheehan, which is, to my mind, a very good actor (he is also very good-looking haha). Nathan was more or less the iconic character and the craziest one too. The funniest. When the actor left the series, it became less interesting, and, at the end of the fourth season, it remains only one actor of the original cast.

I regret that all actors have left the series one by one because I really thought that the idea was good. Finally, it's not a big deal, it's just a series after all.

PS: The music of the credits, "Echoes - The Rapture" is nice. If you have time, take it to listen to it!
